Played a lot the last few days including a few hours this morning. I am doing quite well so far in the month of January. I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about tilt and what causes it, and how it can be prevented/minimized. In my opinion when I am playing my A game heads up I am very very tough and there are few people who can compete with me. The goal is to play my A game as often as possible and for as long as possible. I have always struggled with managing tilt in my game. Now when I talk about tilt I don't just mean donking off 5 buy ins with 7 high to the nuts, I am talking about playing in any state that is not my A game. That means when I am slightly tired or angry or whatever it might be I may be I probably shouldn't seek out tough heads up games. Sounds simple right? I am going to try to control "tilt" more in the next few weeks and see how I do.
Total change of topic.... I am currently on break since I didn't take a J term class and so between now and the 27thish I will probably be playing a good 4+ hours a day of poker. I played a bunch of MTT's yesterday including the $1k tuesday special on stars and the $100 rebuy on there. I just have ran like total crap in MTT's the last year or so and they are really pissing me off. For the most part I am going to focus on cash games the next few months and lay of the MTT's.
Heres to a good January,

Welcome to My blog
Hey guys I decided to start up a blog. In this first post I will tell a little about myself and my history as a poker player. I started playing poker with my buddies in home games in a bout 2003. I was completely awful, but then again so were they. I played only live for about a year mainly just with my buddies and by the end of that year I was probably the biggest or second biggest winner in a group of maybe 15 people who played with us a lot. With one of my other buddies I decided to give online a shot. We knew nothing about online poker but we threw $100 on partypoker and shared an account. We played mostly $5+1 SNG's and were broke within a month. I didn't play online for a few months after that as I wasn't even 18 and couldn't open my own account. When I turned 18 in the spring of 04 I opened my own account and deposited $500 of money that I had made from playing with my buddies or working at a restaurant called Perkins. I played NL25 strictly and after a few months of playing like a total nit(think 12/8) I had built it up to over $3k. I then moved up to NL50 still playing full ring which was more popular at that time, I killed that for another 3k in less that a month and moved up to NL100 where I would stay for about 6 months. This is where things really started to get rolling. I joined 2+2 and FTR and in the ensuing 6 months I made over 18k winning 8ptbb/100 and nl 100. I was elated and thought I was the man. I was still only playing 12/8 straight up nit and killing it. Keep in mind that at the time the games were incredibly soft. The highest game at the time was NL200 so I moved up to NL200. I absolutely destroyed it I make 20k in a matter of a few months and talked a lot of crap at the tables of the likes of PokerJedi, Kristelita/Alikings and other regs at the time. Then Party made a big change in the games. The games went from 50bb stacks to 100bb stacks and they opened up games all they way up to NL1000. I started playing nl600 right away but absolutely could not win. I broke even for a few months trying to figure out how to beat 100bb stacks. For some reason my 12/8 style that had killed 50bb stacks was not winning....so I studied. I cashed out about 20k of my roll leaving myself with a 20k roll and decided to learn to beat 100bb stacks. I started with my 20k roll at nl600 and for the longest time was barely beating the games. I maybe made 5k in the next 3 months. Then I decided to play an MTT one night. Something that I had never done before. I played a 10k guaranteed on Empire that night and won it. I was like hmm that was easy so I started playing MTT's for a while. I ran very well and ended up winning a ton of MTT's including a super tuesday on Party for 32k and before I knew it I had a 100k roll. I then started my next phase of poker and moved almost strictly to SNG's. I jumped right into 200+15 sngs and studied a ton. I read a lot on the STT forum on 2+2. I played 1000 of them with a 6% ROI and made a lot off them and rake back which at the time I was getting like 32% on eurobet. A skin of party poker. For about the next 6 months I strictly played SNG's and made about another 50-75k. I then had about a 150k roll. I grew bored with pushbotting SNG's and decided to hear back to cash. I studied MSNL and HSNL hands on 2+2 a ton for the next few months to figure out just what 100bb stacks changed in the game. After several months I was getting the hang of it and mostly 6-8 tabling nl600 and killing it for 6ptbb/100. I did this for the next year or so until party kicked off US players. I then moved much of my play to Bodog under the screen name Gambool and absolutely destroyed the games. This has led me to where I am today. Playing anything from 3/6-10/20 on Bodog and a few games on some other sites. I mostly 3-6 table and am doing very well for myself. I am currently in School and plan on going to Law School after undergrad. I am taking my sweet time taking only 12 credits per semester as I am in no rush to graduate since I probably make more now then I will then. Well thats my story hope you enjoyed it. Hopefully if I don't get too lazy I will post on here from time to time.
